Burglars steal temple donation box

June 17, 2015 04:51 pm | Updated 04:51 pm IST - Bengaluru:

Burglars broke into a temple and made away with the 'Hundi' (donation box) situated at Nayandahalli Junction in Byatarayanapura on Tuesday night.

The Byatarayanapura police rushed to the spot and conducted investigations. They said that the burglars gained access into the Atma Jyothi Lingeshwara Temple by jumping over the compound wall and breaking open the sanctum sanctorum of the temple and made way with the Hundi containing cash.

The incident came to light on Wednesday morning, when the priest went to open the door and found the lock broken open and the Hundi missing.

The police have collected finger prints and are trying to obtain the CCTV footage from neighbouring buildings. It was a small temple and there is no CCTV camers, nor security guard.
