BJP seeks one from CM

October 04, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:48 am IST - BENGALURU:

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s comment on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Gandhi Jayanti has drawn the ire of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

BJP’s State general secretary C.T. Ravi said in a release that Mr. Siddaramaiah’s statement – that Prime Minister Narendra Modi being born in Mahatma Gandhi’s Gujarat was an irony – was in bad taste and against the principles for which the Mahatma stood.

He said it reflected the “the party’s frustration at Mr. Modi’s popularity”.

Mr. Ravi demanded that the Chief Minister tender an apology for his comments.
