Kota Srinivas Poojary, BJP MLC, accompanied by senior party leader and former Minister S. Suresh Kumar, MLCs Tara, D.S. Veeraiah and Y.A. Narayanaswamy, and MLA Ravi Subramanaya, on Friday staged a protest outside the office of Minister for Health and Family Welfare U.T. Khader in the Vikasa Soudha opposing “anomalies” in the salary being paid to staff nurses under the Reproductive and Child Health (RCH) project funded by the Centre.

The department has been paying salary of Rs. 4,575 against the sanctioned Rs. 17,650 for staff nurses from the last three years, Mr. Poojary alleged.

As they were not convinced by the Minister’s reply, Mr. Poojary and others decided to continue the protest outside Mr. Khader’s office in the Suvarna Soudha in Belagavi from Monday when the legislature session begins.
