The ‘Bengaluru Book Festival-2018’ will kick off at the city’s Palace Grounds on October 15.

Kannada Development Authority Chairman S.G. Siddaramaiah told presspersons here on Friday that around 350 stalls would be set up during the seven-day event by publishers from across the country.

Besides Kannada and English, the festival would feature stalls of Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Marathi, Manipuri, Bengali and other language books. The last international book festival was held in the city in 2015.

A discussion on Kannada literature/books would be held for three days during the fest. A 15% discount would be offered on all books. Over 100 stalls would be related to Kannada books. Publishers such as Kuvempu Bashabharati, Kannada Sahitya Parishat and Kendra Sahitya Acadmey have been urged to provide discount up to 50% during the mela.

Several books would be released. Entertainment programmes ranging from light music to folk dance programmes, book-reading sessions and poets’ meets would also be held.
