A state-of-the-art audio-visual auditorium has been set up at the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) PU College at Chamarajapet.
Constructed at a cost of Rs. 15 lakh, the auditorium is sound proof, has seven surround-sound speakers and a hi-tech projector. The auditorium will be inaugurated on February 15 by city in-charge Minister R. Ashok, Mayor Sharadamma and Bangalore Central MP P.C. Mohan.
Chamarajapet councillor B.V. Ganesh said at the audio-visual auditorium, the PU and school students will be able to watch documentaries and educative films.
“The civic body has been taking several initiatives to ensure that students in BBMP-run schools and colleges get quality education and are empowered to compete with those from private institutions.” K. Ramesh Raju, chairperson of the Standing Committee for Education and Sports, said that the teachers will be urged to incorporate the audio-visual medium while teaching important and difficult subjects.
Mr. Ramesh claimed that after the Bharatiya Janata Party came to power in the BBMP, several reforms have been introduced in the education department.
