Posing as customers, three armed men robbed a woman who owns a medical shop in Rajajinagar.

The trio went to Vishu Medicals and General Stores in 5th Block , Rajajinagar, on Saturday night and found Sujatha, the owner, alone in the shop. While two of them downed the shutters and threatened her at knifepoint to hand over valuables, the third stood guard outside.

They snatched gold valuables, including her mangalsutra, a pair of gold bangles and five rings, along with Rs. 4,500 cash and her mobile phone.

Meanwhile, Sujatha’s son, Chandan (24), came to the shop. Sensing something amiss, he rushed towards the shop to check, but the man standing outside alerted his associates, who barged out and escaped after pushing Chandan to the ground. When Chandan went to give chase to the men, he was stopped by Sujatha, who warned him that the men were armed.

The trio managed to escape with the valuables worth Rs 2.5 lakh, the police said.

The Magadi Road Police have registered a case.
