ACB traps BBMP officer ‘acceptinga bribe’

Anti-Corruption Bureau officials on Saturday caught an official from the BBMP revenue office while he was allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹12,000 from a property owner who wanted to change the khata.

The accused officer, Chandrashekhar N., who worked at the BBMP sub-division in Marathahalli, has been charged under various sections of Prevention of Corruption Act, said the police.

According to the property owner, who had failed a complaint with the ACB, the BBMP officer had demanded a bribe when he applied online to change the khata.

Based on his complaint, the ACB team laid a trap and him Chandrashekhar red-handed.
