A pink teddy bear abandoned at the railway station parking lot created panic ahead of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's rally in the city on Sunday.

Responding to the appeal made by police through SMSs asking people to be careful about suspicious objects and to report the matter, a few passersby noticed the teddy bear at City railway station’s parking lot and immediately alerted the police.

A team of police with the anti-sabotage personnel rushed to the spot. The police cordoned the area and conducted a thorough check to confirm that it just a soft toy.

“Someone in a hurry might have left the toy behind,” a police official said adding that the Upparpet police were trying further inquiring to ascertain whether it could be a pranksters act.
