Following the airing of the recorded speech of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHS) international working president Praveen Togadia on LCD screens at the Virat Hindu Samajotsava here on Sunday, city police have registered three cases against the organisers of VHS for violating orders of the police commissioner.

A case has also been registered against Praveen Togadia for violating the police orders.

Cases have been registered under Section 188 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) for violating orders issued by the commissioner under Section 144 of IPC. If convicted under the section, a person can be sentenced up to one month imprisonment or fine or both.

Another case has been registered against unnamed organisers of the programme for obstructing public officials from discharging their duty. When police officials rushed to the stage to stop the airing of the video, organisers allegedly did not let officials proceed and obstructed their action. However, police are yet to make any arrests in this connection.
