Separate panel on water project sought

June 17, 2016 12:00 am | Updated October 18, 2016 03:05 pm IST - BENGALURU:

The Shashvata Neeravari Horata Samiti, Chikkaballapur, has urged the State government to set up a separate corporation to implement drinking water projects for drought-prone Kolar and Chickballapur districts.

The samiti alleged that the government had not taken into confidence the ‘struggle committees’ while constituting a five-member committee, headed by A.K. Bajaj, former chairman of Central Water Commission, to study the implementation of the Yettinahole drinking water project and also availability of water resources to provide drinking water to Kolar and Chickballapur districts.
