Petition against hike in school fees

February 17, 2017 10:24 pm | Updated February 19, 2017 08:20 am IST

An online signature campaign started by parents on Thursday to oppose the move by school managements to hike the fees every academic year received more than 600 signatures by Friday.

The petition states that several schools have increased tuition fees by 20% this year, and points out that the staff of the school are unable to justify the sudden change in the fee structure.

Parents said that hikes are not reflected in the facilities and infrastructure offered by the schools.

But it is unlikely that parents will get any monetary relief as the Department of Public Instruction is yet to finalise the draft fee structure.
