KAT stays BBMP engineers' suspension

The Karnataka Administrative Tribunal (KAT) on Tuesday stayed the suspension of several engineers working in the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).

The State Government had passed orders suspending several engineers following a High Court direction.

Justice Rammohan Reddy had found the engineers guilty of misleading the BBMP Commissioner and making him file a false affidavit in the High Court in a case involving the civic agency.

On his directive, the State Government conducted an inquiry and found Honne Gowda, Chandrashekar, L. Raghu, all Executive Engineers; Bettaswamaiah, Assistant Executive Engineer; and Revanna, Assistant Engineer; guilty of the misdemeanour and placed them under suspension.

The suspended engineers them moved the KAT for a stay.

A KAT Bench of A.C. Kabbin and Usha Ganesh stayed the government order and adjourned further hearing of the case.
