International short film fest in August

Suchitra Film Society has invited short film entries from professionals and students across the globe for the three-day annual Bangalore International Short Film Festival scheduled to be held from August 22 - 24 this year.

Anand Varadraj, secretary of the film society, said that several international organizations from Poland, Germany and New York have not only confirmed their participation, but would also give their expert opinions on film making.

Filmmakers and students from across the world have been invited to send their entries which would be curated by industry experts and screened at the Bangalore International Short Film society in Bangalore, Mr. Varadraj said.

The film should be of a duration of 30 minutes and be submitted in the DVD format. A video link should be provided if the entry is to be submitted online. Submission categories will be considered under student and non-student (students should submit a copy of their ID card/ or a letter from their school). The film must have been produced after January 1, 2013.

Short films in all languages are accepted, but English subtitles are required for non-English films, Mr. Varadraj said, adding that the last date for submission is August 2, 2014.

The entry fee for students is Rs. 250, while others have to pay Rs. 500. For details, call 080-26711785/9845055034.
