I have nothing to say, says Yeddyurappa

June 28, 2010 12:58 pm | Updated 12:58 pm IST - Bangalore:

Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa on Sunday refused to react to the police action against farmers.

Talking to presspersons after chairing a high-level committee meeting on Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor (BMIC) project, he said, “I have nothing to say. I have no information about the incident.”

Mr. Yeddyurappa said the Government had to submit a response to Supreme Court by June 29 on the project and the committee reviewed some of the decisions taken on implementing the project during the earlier meeting.

“We have also taken a decision to seek the court's permission to allow an Empowered Committee, headed by the Chief Secretary, to deliberate on the implementation of the project in future,” said Mr. Yeddyurappa.

“This is what I wanted to say. I do not want to say anything as the session of the State Legislature is beginning tomorrow,” he said when asked about the decision on granting “excess land” and the allegation by farmers about them not being invited to the meeting despite an order of the Supreme Court.

Ashok Kheny, Managing Director of NICE, refused to give details stating that “it will amount to contempt of court.”
