People forgot about their shopping and gathered around the make-shift dais to listen to the 10 singers at Garuda Mall here on Friday.

The singers were participants in the first quarter finals of the Voice of Bangalore, Season 4, a talent hunt organised by Garuda Mall. The judges were music director Veer Samarth, and playback singers Badri Prasad and Anuradha Bhatt.

After a gruelling singing session, the judges declared the winners. Among the girls, Apoorva Sridhar, Sneha Ravindran and Yamini secured the first, second and third places respectively, while among the boys, Krishna and Pariksheeth bagged the first and second places.

Huge turnout

According to the organisers, this year's auditions saw a huge turnout of over 6,000 aspirants. Auditions were conducted in August in various colleges and companies across the city. After four arduous rounds of elimination, 20 singers qualified for the two quarter finals. Of the 20, 10 will qualify for the semifinals. The second quarter finals will be held on September 17, while the semifinals will be held on September 25. The six finalists will sing their hearts out for the VOB, Season 4 crown, on October 10. The judges for the finals will be playback singers Udit Narayan, Guru Kiran and Rajesh Krishnan.
