Bangalore University budget snubbed at Syndicate meeting

March 22, 2012 10:26 am | Updated 10:26 am IST - BANGALORE:

The meeting of Bangalore University's Syndicate kept up its reputation of being full of drama, as Wednesday's meeting witnessed a war of words between the members. Significantly, the crucial budget of the varsity, which was presented during the meeting, was not passed, as the Syndicate members demanded clarifications at various points.

Subsequently, it was decided that a modified budget would be presented at another meeting scheduled to be held on Saturday.

In the midst of this confusion, Syndicate member K.V. Acharya raked up the issue of an FIR being registered against Vice-Chancellor N. Prabhu Dev in connection with the mental harassment case involving the University Engineer.

Mr. Acharya demanded the VC's resignation, responding to which Dr. Prabhu Dev is said to have questioned his authority to make such a demand.
