The INAE (Indian National Academy of Engineers) Youth Conclave, is being organised by IIT-Kharagpur, from March 23 to25. Engineering students from all over the country can participate in the conclave.
The conclave, the second one to be held, seeks to engage budding engineers from different engineering disciplines in the task of nation-building. In the process, it intends to give expression to their creative talent and innovative zeal.
Innovative technologies
Students are expected to develop new plans, applications, innovative technologies or devise workable action plans that will answer pressing problems. The competition and entries are planned to match the flagship programmes of the Central government, according to a statement issued here.
IIT Kharagpur, with the approval of the INAE, has brought about substantial changes in the content, which last year involved an online essay-writing competition. The contest at IIT Kharagpur will involve academic and technical competition. The students will be evaluated for their presentation on the problem statements chosen by them in the competition, to be held in two phases.
They are expected to do detailed analysis of the problems and come up with viable plans or devices in the prescribed format. The initial short listing for the pre-conclave will be done by March 8.
Finalists will be selected during the presentations from March 23.
The finalists will be given time from April to July to work on new assignments and improve upon the existing solutions.
The final competition will be held at the conclave in IIT Kharagpur between August 10 and12. There will be cash prizes for the first three winners in both the phases.
Apart from the academic segment, where students will have to write an essay, there are two other segments Product Design and Development and Mobile Application Development.
