Workshop on new pension scheme held

A workshop on ‘Implementation of new pension scheme in State Autonomous Bodies (SAB s) of Andhra Pradesh’ was conducted by the Pension Fund Regulatory Development Authority (PFRDA), New Delhi, at the TLN Sabha Hall, Andhra University here on Friday.

The objective of the workshop was to create awareness on the importance of post- retirement financial security through the New Pension Scheme (NPS) administered by the NPS Trust and regulated by the PFRDA.

In Andhra Pradesh, 30 SAB's have registered so far with PFRDA, with a subscriber base of 7261 employees.

The workshop addressed a lot of issues raised by the participants of various SABs. Director of Treasuries and Accounts N Mohana Rao, Andhra University Registrar V Uma Maheswara Rao, General Manager, PFRDA Mohan Gandhi and Assistant vice-president of NSDL, New Delhi, Sunil Samuel spoke.
