A 21-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan due to alleged harassment by her in-laws and husband for additional dowry at Santhapalem area of Chinagadili in the city late on Sunday night.
According to Arilova Inspector Ch. Dhanunjaya Naidu, around six months ago, the woman, B. Lakshmi, was married to one B. Sreenu, who is working as a sales executive for a cosmetic company in the city.

The Inspector said that following a complaint from the family members alleging that Lakshmi was killed and the suicide angle was being fabricated by the in-laws and family members of Sreenu, a case was registered.
Sreenu was taken into custody.
Investigation is on.
