With in principle decision to take up development of the Mudasarlova Park VUDA is considering the designs prepared by an experienced architect. While his plans were earlier considered, midway through Expression of Interest (EoI) had been called again. Two consultants from Pune and Ahmedabad have made presentations, it was learnt. After witnessing their presentations and enquiries of their experience etc, VUDA had almost decided to call for EoI again.
"Before going for fresh EoI, I saw the work done by the first architect Raj Expedith. He has given good conceptual designs and landscaping integrating the existing greenery. There has been a rethink and we are going back to the designs prepared by Mr. Expedith," said VUDA Vice Chairman P Basanth Kumar.
The park will be developed by VUDA with the coordination and support of AP Urban Greening and Beautification Corporation (APUGBC). The proposal for development of the park spread over 25 acres has been hanging fire since 2015. The estimated cost of the project is ₹15 crore.
Besides the plans made by Mr Expedith, IL&FS has been asked to make revenue generation components like theme park and amusement areas. Mr. Basanth Kumar said the existing greenery particularly the big tress would be retained.
Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of APUGBC N Chandramohan Reddy will have a meeting with Mr. Expedith during the week in Amaravati to fine-tune the process.
