The mood was upbeat as models walked down the ramp, carrying themselves well in a collection of Indian wear at a textile showroom here on Sunday evening.

In the run-up to the final round of Miss Vizag-2014, scheduled to be held on November 30, contestants numbering 22 showcased their modelling skills that blended well with the background music at the show.

Featured by Creative Plus Entertainment Network, in association with Prema Events, the prelims of the fashion show, rechristened — Let’s walk- Ek Kadam — to help contribute to the welfare of Hudhud victims, aimed at helping the contestants overcome their challenges.

“Before stepping into the final show, the avenue aims at building confidence of the participants. Right from make-up, hairstyle to clothes and accessories, aspirants will be trying different styles much ahead of the main event,” says Ajay Agarwal of Creative Plus.

More than a collection of bright coloured lehengas and contrast cholis and dupattas that the models donned, what appeared more attractive was how they teamed their accessories to suit bright hues, including studded waistband.

Giving the aspirants a new look was beauty consultant and makeup artist Iva Gagan of Bon Chic Spa and Saloon.

She says, “Based on the texture of their skin and hair, some of them will be judged for Miss. Beautiful Hair, Miss. Beautiful Skin, and Miss Photogenic as well.”

In the coming days, fashion choreographer from New Delhi Amit Pandey will be grooming the contestants.

“Like Mumbai, even Vizag has potential when it comes to fashion industry. We have a couple of fashion choreographers from the city in Mumbai, who are doing extremely well in the field. I think events such as these help the aspirants live their dreams,” says Amit.
