Two students from Tuni feared drowned off Vizag beach

A joy trip turned tragic for a group of students who went to Venkatanagaram beach under Payakaraopeta police station limits on Wednesday as two of them were feared to have drowned.

According to police, 21 BSc second year students of Government Degree College at Tuni of East Godavari district came to the beach.

Four students entered the water for a swim. All on a sudden, the four students were swept away by a strong current.

Two students managed to swim back to the shore while the other two— Raju and P. Sairam, could not make it, feared to have drowned.

Upon information, the police have launched a search operation with the help of fishermen to trace the students.
