Three thieves held, valuables recovered

Three thieves, including two women, were arrested at two different places on Wednesday.

In the first case, the Crime Wing police of Anakapalle police station arrested a notorious burglar, K. Santosh alias Satish, of Maredupudi village, who was involved in several burglaries and seized gold and silver ornaments, worth around Rs.10 lakh, from him. The accused was arrested during routine vehicle checking in Anakapalle, according to Inspector (crime) G.M. Rao.

In another case, the Kancharapalem police arrested two women, M. Bhavani and M. Annavaram, both sisters, from Kothavalasa in Vizianagaram district, on Wednesday and recovered around 70 gm of gold ornaments from them. The sisters got into a share auto in the city on January 4 and stole a bag, containing gold ornaments from women passengers, near NAD Kotha Road.
