The Hindu and Indian Bank, Visakhapatnam will jointly organise an awareness programme on the recent Union Budget for the benefit of students of GITAM Institute of Management, at Mother Theresa Auditorium on GITAM University campus on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The main objective of this event is to improve the awareness levels among the readers and students, apart from creating a better understanding on the Union Budget, Deputy General Manager of Indian Bank Seshagiri Rao said. There would be a thorough analysis and deliberations by the panel members followed by an interactive session with the audience. Principal of GITAM Institute of Management Sivaramakrishna said the initiative of conducting the panel discussion was appropriate in the current scenario. He also invited professionals, corporates and the general public to participate in the discussion and get benefited. The entry for the participants is free.
The panel consists of Deputy Chairman of Visakhapatnam Port Trust G.V.L. Satya Kumar, who will deliver the keynote address on budget and talk on Infrastructure and logistics; Director– Commercial of RINL and president of CII T.K. Chand, who would address on `Industry perspective'; Pro Vice-Chancellor of GITAM University Harinarayana, who would give a macro picture of the budget in the background of concerns on inflation, economic growth, deficits, and allocations faced by the Finance Minister; and CEO of Symbiosis Technologies O. Naresh Kumar, who would speak on ‘IT Industry and Job Opportunities', followed by Chartered Accountant Chandra Sekhar Veeraghanta's talk on ‘Corporate and Personal Income Tax' and P. Kavitha Rao, Commercial Tax Officer will address on the impact of the budget on Commercial Tax and other women-related issues.
