V-C urges it to train students

Team from Singapore Business Federation met Andhra University Vice-Chancellor P.V.G.D. Prasad Reddy during their visit to AU campus here on Tuesday.

The V-C asked the team to provide training, start new courses and set up laboratories for the students with the help of industries in Singapore and their experts. He said that he would be welcoming expert faculty of Singapore universities as guest faculty in Andhra University.

He asked them to support the varsity in improving the technical skills among the students. Prof. Prasad Reddy sought the support of the team to provide internship to the varsity students in Singapore and also lend possible help in genetic engineering and mechatronics research programmes. He also urged the Singapore team to provide technical help for smart cities project.

Andhra University is working on improving the living standards of tribals and fishermen communities, he said.

The V-C also sought their help to work in collaboration with the AU on the Uddanam kidney problem issue. Later, the team visited various departments and interacted with the students at the Siemens Centre for Excellence about their training programmes.
