Sikhs to take out ‘holy’ procession today

The Sikh community in the city will be taking out a ‘holy’ procession from the Gurudwara Sandh Sangat on October 29 as part of the 548th Guru Nanak Jayanti celebrations. Over 1,200 devotees will be participating in the procession that will begin at 2 p.m.

The Guru Granth Sahib, Holy Scripture of the Sikhs, will be carried on a beautifully decorated vehicle along with religious flags all along the procession. The major attraction will be the display of ‘Gatka’, a famous Sikh martial art form. The procession will start pass through Seethammapeta, RTC Complex, LIC Building, Jail Road, CMR Road, Jagadamba Junction, Hotel Green Park, Hotel Novotel, Beach Road, Siripuram, Satyam Junction and return to the Gurudwara at 6.30 p.m., president of Gurudwara Sadh Sangat Dilshah Singh Anand said.
