‘Send revised DPR for community cycling'

The Central Monitoring and Sanctioning Committee has asked the GVMC to send a revised detailed project report (DPR) with ant outlay of Rs.10 crore for the corporation's community cycling project.

Commissioner B. Ramanjaneyulu who participated in the committee meeting at New Delhi on Monday gave a detailed account of the progress made by introducing ‘no motor vehicle zones,' clearing cellars of encroachments for smooth traffic flow, using of bicycles by GVMC officials and staff on Monday, - all aimed at reducing vehicular pollution- and beautification of roads etc.

The GVMC has already submitted a DPR for a Rs.5 crore community cycling project. However, the committee asked the Commissioner to send a revised report making students, women, business circles and voluntary organisations part of it.
