The AP Private Schools’ Association (APPPS) has appealed to the government to accord recognition or renewal of recognition to small budget schools after taking an affidavit from them that all the requisite certificates would be submitted at a later date.
Association State president K.S.N. Murthy said that most of the private schools had obtained recognition after a lot of hardship.
The schools have to go for renewal of recognition after every five years. All the papers like NOC from the Fire Services Department, Traffic Police and civic authorities regarding structural soundness of the school building have to be submitted every time. It proved to be a difficult task to obtain the certificates from various departments for the first time.
The files pertaining to various schools, which applied for renewal of recognition, have been kept pending for failure to submit the certificates afresh. Mr. Murthy has sought that recognition should be granted to these schools after taking an affidavit from them.
The other demands include exemption of schools that do not have school buses from production of ‘traffic certificate’, exemption of budget schools from production of ‘fire certificate’ as in the case of G + 1 buildings, giving a fair chance to those schools that could not get recognition due to financial problems, categorisation of schools based on their financial standing and renewal of recognition on ‘single window system’ as promised by the Education Minister.
