Physical tests for police recruitment begin

On first day, 600 appear for them

The certificate verification, physical measurement test and physical efficiency test for the candidates who had qualified in the preliminary test are being held from January 21 to February 6 from 5.30 a.m. at the District AR Grounds at the foothill of Kailasagiri.

Deputy Inspector General (Visakhapatnam Range) Ch. Srikant and Superintendent of Police (Visakhapatnam district) Babujee Attada are overseeing the conduct of these tests.

It may be recalled that the State level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB), Andhra Pradesh, had issued a notification in November, 2018, for the posts of SI (Civil) (Men/Women), Reserve SI (A.R.) (Men/Women), Reserve SI (APSP) (Men), Deputy Jailor (Men/Women), Station Fire Officer (Men).

The preliminary written test for candidates, pertaining to Visakhapatnam Range, was held on December 16, 2018. Of the 14,723 applicants, who qualified in the test, 1,623 were women.

The candidates have already been informed on the time to report for the certificate verification and physical tests. On Monday, 600 candidates appeared for the tests. Candidates reporting for the tests should invariably carry their original certificates and also one set of photocopies, attested by a Gazetted Officer. Candidates having any complaint regarding the physical measurement test can contact the DIG. Those who qualify in these tests will be eligible to take the final examination. Additional SP (Crime) B. Umamaheswar, DSP (CCS, Anakapalle) Elia Sagar, DSP (DAR) Santhi Kumar and Manager (Range Office) P. Paradesi Naidu were present at the selection tests.
