Being responsible and committed are the two ideal qualities that strengthen a relationship. And it is the same theory that inspired Suku, a local artiste, to come up with a 42-minute short film ‘Kaadhal’.

Giving a new dimension to a committed relationship, Suku, who has not only acted, directed and composed music for the film but also handled cinematography, screenplay and dialogues, believes that one should be more practical when it comes to love and relationship. “Unless you feel responsible towards a relationship, it becomes difficult task to sustain it in the long run. ‘Kaadhal’ deals with this narrative that concludes on an emotional note,” says the director of the film, who has done a few short films like ‘Anniversary Couple’ and ‘Betrayed’ earlier.

The film, produced by Riya and supported by Sun Media Works, is being released under Think Cinema banner. “The best part of the film is that the entire crew and cast of the film belong to Vizag. Apart from a couple of theatres, the film will be released via local television channels and social networking sites,” explains Suku at the premier show screened here on Sunday.

Although Sneha, a final year engineering student, has done a couple of short films earlier, this short film proved to be promising. “I play the lady-lead in the film. The interesting part is that I focus more on balancing the relationship between father and lover. How I try to convince my father to accept my relationship with the person I have fallen in love with but instead get convinced by him adds a new twist to the story,” explains Sneha.
