Taking cognisance of the issues facing the information a communication technology industry in Andhra Pradesh in the post bifurcation scenario the software industry representative body NASSCOM will organise a day-long meet here on Wednesday on the subject.
The Open House being organised by the NASSCOM is trying to understand the issues that have become millstones round the neck of the existing enterprises in the region hindering the growth of the industry. A number of issues including the decade old issue of SEZ status to the Rushikonda IT Park, lack of basic amenities like drinking water supply, uninterrupted power supply, transport connectivity, among others are likely to be taken note of.
The NASSCOM officials in New Delhi were surprised to note that these issues have not been resolved despite it being taken up with officials and Ministers at both the State as well as Central level, industry sources said. The officials, including the IT Secretary, except for paying lip service to the issues has not been able to push through a resolution, reflecting the apathy and bias of the Hyderabad-based administration.
NASSCOM vice-president Rajiv Vaishnav is scheduled to address the members of ‘IT industry on IT, New Andhra Pradesh, New Opportunities - A National Perspective from the VRV Super City Region’. The meeting is being held at Godavari Hall, Taj Gateway from 2:00 p.m., according to an invitation sent by NASSCOM regional director A.P. Bidhan Kankate. For details contact Murali Bulusu 9440590248.
