Mission-Based Deployment transformed Indian Navy as a Net Security Provider in the Indian Ocean Region, said Vice Admiral Karambir Singh, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command, here on the occasion of the 70th Republic Day.

After hoisting the national flag, the ENC chief took the salute and inspected a 50-men Armed Guard and later reviewed the platoons comprising naval personnel drawn from all ships, submarines and establishments, Defence Security Corps and Sea Cadets Corps. Vice-Admiral Karambir complimented the units of ENC for maintaining an operation-ready status and displaying professionalism in conduct of several important exercises during the last one year. The Vice Admiral also reminded the men and women on parade of the fragile security situation in the region emanating from terrorism and other threats and urged all present to never let their guard down. He also underscored the importance of information security and need to be on guard against intelligence operatives who try to deceive service personnel with false identities on social media.

‘Dressed overall’

All naval ships at Visakhapatnam were also ‘dressed overall’ with various signal flags displayed from their main mast to the front and rear flag poles.

Additional Director General KR Nautiyal, Coast Guard Commander (Eastern Seaboard), commended Best ships and Best Shore stations of the Coast Guard.
