Meeting on first international flight held

A meeting on logistic support and coordination between various agencies and departments to facilitate the inaugural international flight from Visakhapatnam to Dubai on March 25 was held with the Minister for Infrastructure and Investments Ganta Srinivasa Rao in the chair.

In his opening remarks, the Minister recalled that a decision was already been taken to commence international operations from Visakhapatnam Airport from March 25.

He said that the Union Minister, Ministers, MPs and MLA s from the district were happy with the initiative taken by the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation and Air India.

Initiates discussion

Principal Secretary (Infrastructure and Investment Department) S. Bhattacharya initiated the discussion.

The Principal Secretary requested the Home department, Air India, the Customs department and the District Collector to explain about the status of arrangements made to commence the International operations from Visakhapatnam Airport.

‘Make all out effort'

Officials of different department explained their position and the support required from Government of India and Government of Andhra Pradesh. Mr. Srinivasa Rao impressed upon the participants to make all out efforts to ensure that the first international flight takes off as scheduled.

Additional Commissioner (Customs) U. Niranjan, General Manager (coordination in charge), Airports Authority of India I.N. Murthy, Airport Director K. Srinivasa Rao, Chief Project Manager (Infrastructure and Investments Department) P. Sreedhar Gupta, Director of Ports D. Muralidhar Reddy, Station Manager of Air India K.S. Reddy, Passenger Sales Manager, Air India, S.V.R. Shastri, District Collector Lav Agarwal, IPS officer Bhavna Saxena, IG (Law and Order) A.R. Anuradha and Principal Secretary (Home Department) Ajoyendra Pyal participated in the meeting.
