Union Minister V. Kishore Chandra Deo will deliver the key note address

A two-day stakeholders' consultation on “Promoting women's political leadership and governance in India and South Asia,” a collaboration between the Government of India and UN Women, begins here on Thursday.

Union Minister for Panchayati Raj and Tribal Welfare V. Kishore Chandra Deo will deliver the keynote address at the inaugural session at Four Points by Sheraton. Andhra Pradesh Panchayati Raj Minister K. Jana Reddy and Tribal Welfare Minister P. Balaraju will address the session.

Charge d'Affaires and Minister Counsellor of Royal Norwegian Embassy Aslak Brun and Regional Programme Director of UN Women South Asian Regional Office Anne F. Stenhammer will speak at the inaugural session.

Among the participants are district officials from programme districts, from the State Government, the Ministry of Panchayat Raj of Government of India, UN officials and international partners.
