Maoist killed in exchange of fire identified

The Maoist killed during an exchange of fire between a group of Maoists and a special police party near Gobbaripada under Rangabayalu panchayat in Munchingput mandal on June 20 was identified as Kopparthi Suryam alias Sonu of Kurasapadu in Prakasam district.

His family members identified him through photographs published in the press and electronic media and came to Paderu on Saturday. His father Subbaiah was informed about the death of his son by the local SI, it was reported. He came to Paderu along with civil rights activists and received his son’s body which was exhumed.
