The Mangamaripeta beachfront is set to get a facelift with features like beach shacks and restaurants. The water sports zone project at the cost of ₹2 crore is being developed by AP Tourism to boost the tourism potential of the place. The foundation stone for the project was laid by HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao on Saturday. District Collector Pravin Kumar was present.
Speaking to The Hindu , district tourism officer Poornima Devi said, “The water sports zone project will have four beach shacks, a restaurant, shelters for tourists and a 40-metre-long foot bridge leading to the shacks and restaurants.”
“We have partnered with AP Tourism to promote aero adventures for the first time in the city. We will be getting one powered parachute and a paratrike by this month-end following which aero adventure activities will commence,” B. Balaram Naidu, director of Livein Adventures said.
Mangamaripeta has become a hot favourite with adventure sports lovers after the launch of the go-karting arena three years ago and the start of water sports activities like kayaking that has been drawing local as well as outstation crowd in large numbers.
