Kerala formation day fete

With November 1 to be celebrated as ‘Kerala Piravi Dinam’, formation day of the State, Kerala Kala Samithi, a socio-cultural organisation of Malayalis, is gearing up to celebrate the day in a grand manner. ‘Theyyam’, a traditional ritual of worship followed in some parts of Kerala, will be the highlight of the celebrations. A troupe from Kerala Ritual Traditional Arts Study Centre, Kannur, will be exhibiting their skills in the art form. A couple of styles will be performed on the samithi premises at 5 p.m. on Sunday, according to president of Kerala Kala Samithi N.M. Pillai.
