‘Harvest fest signifies a new beginning’

Former professor of Andhra University Kolavennu Malayavasini highlighted the importance of Sankranti festival at an annual meeting organised by Rotary Club Visakha Port City on Saturday. She explained how the position of sun changes during Makara Sankranti along with other zodiac signs to the audience. The harvest festival signifies a new beginning and hence people celebrate it to welcome wealth and prosperity, she said. President of the club P.L.K. Murthy, secretary R. Ramakrishna Rao and D.S. Prakasa Rao of Rotary Blood Bank were among those who attended the meet.
