About 1,035 kg ganja worth around ₹1 crore was seized by the officials of Special Task Force Team (STF) of Excise and Prohibition Department near Kiliaguda village in Munchingputtu mandal on Monday.
Acting on a tip-off, the STF teams from Anakapalle and Paderu were checking vehicles at Paderu. Noticing them, the accused reportedly fled, leaving the van laden with the contraband.
The officials suspect that the accused might have been shifting the ganja from Pedabayulu to Odisha. No arrest was made. A search has been launched to nab the accused.
