French professor of Telugu to be feted

Along with thespian Gollapudi Maruthi Rao, Professor of Telugu in French National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilisations Daniel Negers is to be felicitated at the 11th annual Lok Nayak Foundation awards ceremony on Sunday.

The foundation would present its annual award, comprising a purse of Rs.1,25,000, to thespian, writer Gollapudi Maruthi Rao at the function being organised here on Sunday to mark the 19th death anniversary of N.T. Rama Rao.

Along with the main award, Prof. Negers and Veeralla Rajeswara Rao of Toronto are also to be honoured and given away Rs. 50000 each, for their contribution to spread of Telugu language and culture, foundation chairman and member of Hindi Central Committee Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad told the media here on Friday.
