Four adivasis killed in road accident

Four adivasis were killed and 18 others injured in a road accident near Chintapalli on Wednesday morning.

The mishap occurred around 11 a.m. when the jeep in which they were travelling overturned while negotiating a sharp curve on the Jerella Ghat Road near Chintapalli under the GK Veedhi Mandal in the Agency area of Visakhapatnam district.

The deceased were from Jerella and Mondiguda. The adivasis, numbering around 25, were on their way to the weekly shandy held at Chintapalli. .

According to Chintapalli DSP Raghavendra, the deceased were identified as Gunnamma (30), S. Bhemalamma (62), G. Balaram (40) and J. Ramarao (35).

Of the 18 injured, 10 were shifted to the Narsipatnam area hospital, while the remaining are undergoing treatment at the Chintapalli hospital.
