Former MLA S.A. Rahaman, Chaitanya Sravanti president Shireen Rahaman and other TDP leaders on Monday staged a demonstration on the Jail Road in support of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s ‘Dharma Porata Seeksha’ organised in New Delhi.

Scrores of women carrying empty pots took part in the demonstration.

Mr. Rahaman questioned the scheduled visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Visakhapatnam, saying that the NDA government had reneged on the promises made to Andhra Pradesh in the State Reorganisation Act. Be it according Special Category Status (SCS), separate railway zone or metro rail in Visakhapatnam, the Centre had meted out a raw deal to the State, he said.

Ms. Rahaman said women should stand by Mr. Chandrababu Naidu.
