Focusing on basic principles of drawing and painting students are being introduced to fundamentals of drawing at the 20-day workshop of drawing and water colour painting.
“We are introducing the students to basics like pencil drawing, shading, perspective, composition of the subject and after that we shall be conducting a skill test in water colours,” artist Naresh Mahanta said.
The course has been divided into basic drawing and different techniques in water colours for seven days, still life and landscape painting demonstration and practice for eight days.
The workshop that started on Sunday at the Hawa Mahal on the Beach Road would go on till May 31 in the morning from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The course fee being charged is towards the cost of materials.
The students would be free to show their skill in water colour with guidance and do their own paintings, Mr Mahanta explained.
Art would enable the students to visualise better and express themselves with clarity, art connoisseur Mayank Kumar Deo said. She is hosting the programme at Hawa Mahal.
The bonus would be that all the students would get an opportunity to participate in a grand exhibition cum sale of the paintings at the end of the course at Hawa Mahal. For details contact 9490459341 or 7893448771.
