Representatives of various peoples’ organisations have demanded that the Railway Minister make a categorical announcement on formation of the new railway zone in Andhra Pradesh with headquarters in Visakhapatnam during his reported visit to the city on May 27. In a letter to the Railway Minister, former Union Secretary E.A.S. Sarma said that the new zone should not be truncated to suit the political interests of the government.
Praja Spandana president C.S. Rao also echoed similar views and wanted that a declaration made on the zone without further delay.
