Recognising the performance and the number of initiatives taken up by president of Rotary Club Visakha Port City P.L.K. Murthy, Rotary International 3020 presented him ‘Exemplary Rotarian’ and ‘Champion of Champions President’ awards on Sunday at Vijayawada.
During his tenure, the club has taken up 275 initiatives, providing relief to cyclone Hudhud victims, conducting blood donation camps, among various projects. Apart form presidential citation from Rotary International; the club received 20 awards and appreciation letters from Rotary International president Gary C.K. Huang and about 16 awards from district Governor of the club G.V. Mohan Prasad so far.
Vice-chairman of Rotary India Literacy Mission P.D.G. Kamal Sanghavi inaugurated Happy School Project at Sacred Heart Girls School, Gnanapuram, on Monday. Rotary Club Visakha Port City installed a RO plant as part of the project.
