Eastern discom trains power employees from 13 nations

Practices adopted to check T&D losses discussed

A team of 26 employees of various power utility companies from 13 countries visited the headquarter of the Andhra Pradesh Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited (APEPDCL) in the city on Wednesday.

As part of their training visit, the power utility employees from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Botswana, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Mozambique among others studied the best practices adopted by the eastern discom.

Transparency in supply

The programme is being sponsored by Union Ministry of External Affairs through the REC Institute of Power Management &Training (REC-IPMT) in Hyderabad.

APEPDCL Chairman and Managing Director H.Y. Dora accorded a grand welcome to the participants and elaborated about on how the discom had achieved the lowest transmission and distributions (T&D) losses with advanced IT solutions, bringing transparency in power supply. Programme Director B Seshu Kumar, IT wing officials and others took part in the programme.
