Football clubs honoured local SAI STC boxing coach I. Venkateswara Rao on receiving the Dronacharya award at a function held in the AMCOSA Hall here on Sunday.
DFA president S.V. Adinarayana Rao presided and recalled how popular boxing was in the city for the last many decades. Dronacharya award winner in kabaddi E. Prasada Rao appreciated Mr. Venkateswara Rao for his dedication and hard work. Former Olympian M.V. Manikyalu, railway trade union leader P. Mohana Rao, District Sports Development Officer N. Surya Rao, SAI STC Administrator T. Kishor Kumar, vice-president of DFA Koteswara Rao, Director of Sports of GVMC Y. Srinivasa Rao, general secretary of ECoRSports Association B. Appanna Reddy, and SAAP football coach Maria Joji were present.
