Drama competition from Oct. 9

The fourth edition of the invitation three-day social drama competition in memory of actor Rao Gopala Rao will be conducted at Kalabharati from October 9 by a city-based cultural organisation, A Creative Maker in Events (ACME), says son of Rao Gopal Rao and actor Rao Ramesh.

There would be two plays staged each day, Mr. Ramesh told the media on Sunday.

On the opening day, two plays would be staged — ‘Nalla Samudram’ by Sagari theatre group of Chilakaluripeta and ‘Chivari Adhyayam’ by city-based Bahurupa Nataka Parishat. On the second day, Srimurthy Cultural Association of Kakinada would stage ‘Soundarya Bharatam’ and Janashreni of Vijayawada would stage ‘Dattasweekaram’.

On the third day, Sirimuvva Culturals of Hyderabad would stage ‘Lifeline’ and Secunderabad-based KJR Cultural Association would show ‘Malli Modalupettukondi’.
