Dacoits strike at Darapalem

They decamp with 20 tolas of gold ornaments

In a major dacoity in the city, a six-member gang forcefully barged into a house at Darapalem under Arilova Police Station limits on Tuesday night, threatened the inmates and made good with 20 tolas of gold ornaments.

The dacoits armed with knives threatened the inmates, a middle-aged woman and a school-going child, and forced them to part with theeir ornaments at knife-point, said DCP (Law and Order- Zone I) K. Fakeerappa.

A dog squad and Clues team were pressed into service and the DCP rushed to the spot to take stock of the incident. The incident reportedly happened between 6.30 pm and 7 pm.
