The cycle rally of Andhra Pradesh Special Protection Force (APSPF) which started from Anantapur on December 20, reached Visakhapatnam city, on Friday.

APSPF cycle rally team led by in-charge Commandant APSPF Anantapur D.K.S. Raju and Assistant Commandant Sudhakar was received by Director General APSPF Madireddi Pratap, and a few other officers and students from various schools at Port Indoor Stadium.

Speaking to newsmen, Mr. Pratap said that the rally aimed at creating awareness on increasing pollution levels, importance of fitness and food habits. He stressed the need for maintaining good health with regular exercises. He said that the rally has already covered Kurnool, Nandyala, Rayachoti, Tirupati, Kavali, Guntur, Eluru and Rajamahendravaram. He interacted with school kids and spoke about importance of sports, fitness in their day-to-day activities. On Saturday morning, the rally will leave for Srikakulam, the last leg and the team is expecting to cover 1,400 km. Several youngsters from Visakhapatnam will be also be taking part in the cycling on Saturday from Vizag to Srikakulam.
